Reversing Diabetes through Life Balance Changes???
May 14, 2010 by Reversing Diabetes
Managing our diabetes is a bit like losing weight – we, for some reason, keep looking for the easier and softer way, all the while knowing, deep inside, that there is no “miracle” cure just waiting out there for us.
Unfortunately, despite many claims to the contrary, if you have been diagnosed with various types of diabetes, the truth is that you cannot “reverse” the disorder. However, if you have not yet been diagnosed and are at the “at risk” level for developing diabetes, you can certainly take matters into your own hands and effect some serious changes that may could very well help you combat this disease.
Scientists and doctors around the world continue to study diabetes, but, as of yet, they have not been able to pin down the exactly what causes type 1 diabetes. They have, however, noted that both hereditary and exposure factors do come into play. This means that if you have a history of diabetes in your family, you will want to keep a vigilant eye on this issue by monitoring for symptoms, especially if this is coupled with other high risk factors such as being overweight, having high blood pressure or if you belong to certain high-risk ethnic populations.
When it comes to health and warding off disease (at least the ones we do have some control over), it is important to remember that we should be striving to find, a life balance that makes us feel fulfilled, healthy and happy.
While most of the diabetes symptoms mentioned are physical, remember that as human beings, when one part of our being is “not functioning well”, it automatically affects the other parts. This means that emotional issues such as stress, anger and anxiety can be as toxic, to us, as ingesting pure sugar.
Working on life balance is vital – if you are going to stay healthy.
